When asked what the greatest commandment was, Jesus replied, “Well… the first one – Love God with all your heart, soul and mind.” But then he went on, “There’s a second one that is like it. Love your neighbour as you love yourself. On these two commandments hang everything in the Law and spoken by the prophets.”
Part of the way that we “love our neighbour as we love ourselves,” is to walk alongside of them, both offering and accepting support as we are able.
Dunbar Ryerson United Church does this in a variety of ways – from Pastoral Visits by members of our Pastoral Care Team and our Pastoral Care Ministers, to Healing Ministries, to the various ways we reach into the community to try and be a part of healing and hope in the world. Check out some of the ways we do that, by hovering your cursor over “Accompaniment” in the menu bar above, and following some of the links.
